After turning down money from Dragon, Ethical Bedding has begun a crowdfunding drive to create a “Ethical Empire”

A premium bedding firm with sustainability at its core has launched its first crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs, giving investors who share the company’s ideals the opportunity to acquire a stake in the business.
Ethical Bedding plans to invest the £100k it raises in its people, its products, and its brand to fuel its expansion. Since the company is data-driven and digital-first, the funding will be used in part to rebuild the website and update the creative content, giving clients a fantastic mobile-first and web experience.

In 2020, young entrepreneur James Higgins launched the certified BCorp after abandoning a decade-long career in financial technology due to its negative effects on his health and, most crucially, his sleep. The abundance of knowledge he had amassed working on several’side hustles’ over the years, particularly in the realm of e-commerce businesses, inspired him to launch a company that would not only improve people’s lives, but the planet as a whole.

After recently appearing on the BBC’s Dragons’ Den business reality TV show, where it politely turned down an investment offer of £150,000 from Touker Suleyman, Ethical Bedding is continuing its mission to build an entire ‘Ethical Empire’ while inspiring other companies to champion sustainable practises.

James Higgins, founder of Ethical Bedding, said, “2023 has been a historic year for Ethical Bedding, having garnered greater exposure for our ethical and environmental approach to business, especially following our participation on Dragons’ Den just a few weeks ago.

We have reached profitability in our third year in company and are prepared to expand rapidly. The 700% organic growth we’ve seen in the previous year and the record-breaking revenue we’ve seen while strengthening our bond with existing clients puts us in a strong position to achieve just that.

To enhance organic social reach across numerous media by providing actual value-add in the sleep and wellness arena, as well as to expand our national retail network into high-street retailers across the UK and Ireland, are the top priorities for 2023. We’ve launched a crowdfunding effort to help us get the money we need to continue our environmentally responsible business practises.

In addition to organic eucalyptus duvets, sheets, pillows, scents, and sleep accessories, Ethical Bedding provides a wide variety of other high-quality, premium products. Its new NatureCore Luxe Mattress ensures minimum environmental effect without sacrificing comfort.

Currently, the company is planting one tree for every purchase, with the goal of planting a total of 100,000 new trees by 2025 as part of its commitment to maintaining a completely ethical manufacturing and supply chain.
