Introduction
Louis Walsh, a legendary in the music business, is known as a talent manager and television judge. Vincent Walsh entered the world in 1952 in County Mayo, Ireland. He made a name for himself by creating some of the most high-profile boy bands of both the ’90s and ’00s. To this day he remains a major presence in music and the entertainment industry as well.

Walsh’s big break came in the early ’90s when he put together Boyzone, an Irish answer to the then-fresh phenomenon of Take That. Boyzone was an enormous success, charting 20 top-ten singles alongside six number-one albums globally. But it was the Irishman’s involvement in creating Westlife in 1998, who has since sold more than 55 million records globally that became his crowning achievement. With Walsh’s guidance, Westlife has achieved immense success in the United Kingdom with fourteen number one singles.
He subsequently established as a talent judge on several other reality shows like Popstars, Popstars: The Rivals and more notably The X Factor. During his lengthy run on The X Factor, he mentored winners such as Shayne Ward. He was also responsible for guiding the careers of acts including One Direction – who went onto to become the biggest act in the world.

Following The X Factor, Walsh made the transition into working on Ireland’s Got Talent. Before more recently making a comeback to mentoring for boyband Next in Line. He also continues to grace our TV screens. He is currently taking part in Celebrity Big Brother with longtime friend Sharon Osbourne.
Controversies and Feuds
There has been no shortage of drama to Walsh’s career. He was involved in a famous battle with Boyzone lead singer Ronan Keating. Keating and Walsh collaborated in the early 2000s but, later on, Walsh denigrated Keating as not being the most talented member of the band. They also famously feuded for years and finally were on talking terms before the two died last year.
He also landed himself in hot water for his opinions about Girls Aloud, specifically in their appearances. His comments band’s girth caused a ruckus — though tempers have since cooled.
Private Life
The Irishman has never really spoke publicly about his relationship with anyone, despite the intrigue. He barely commented anything about the questions put up in reference to his prevailing relationships and even provided a well-thought answer for those brief comments of his when asked for any statement on what his sexuality was. He said in a 2013 interview, “Your private life is your private life. I’m happy, happy as Larry.” While he still has a low-key private life, with some cheeky moments in the spotlight such as ‘marrying’ Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack in 2012 for laughs.
