Louise Thompson is speaking out about her many health battles and their effects on her personal life. In an honest statement she said her dream of having the “perfect family” she had always pictured was broken and that it hurt her to accept that.
He was facing severe health issues around October 2023.
Thompson has a secondary condition, which means she can’t conceive or carry another child after having previously given birth. Even though she has always dreamed of a large family, it is a reality that is now no longer within reach. “I always thought I would have children, four children. This will never be my life,” Louise Thompson opened up.
Her health journey has had its struggles. When Louise gave birth to her son Leo-Hunter in 2021, she had serious complications that sent her to the brink of death. And from that trauma, I developed post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and received a diagnosis of lupus, an autoimmune disease. She has also struggled with a chronic inflammatory condition of intestine called ulcerative colitis.
Recent Health Setbacks
In the November 2024 cycle, Thompson experienced another major blow to their health. She spent nearly two weeks in the hospital after undergoing emergency surgery for intense abdominal pain. She developed septic shock, a life-threatening condition caused by the body’s inability to fight an infection after the surgery. Her fiancé, Ryan Libbey, said he was anguished over Louise Thompson’s continuing health challenges: “I don’t know how much more she can take.”
Nevertheless, Thompson perseveres in the face of adversity. She has thanked the medical professionals looking after her and the love and support from her family and friends. When Louise looks back on her journey, she said, “there’s always going to be some sadness that I won’t ever be pregnant again.” That sadness is now part of who I am, and I’m going to need to learn how to carry it into whatever’s next for the rest of my life.”
