Manchester United are planning a £95 million double transfer to strengthen their squad. And according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the club has now opened advanced talks with both to sign these key recruits.
Manchester United’s target no. 1: MATTHIJS DE LIGT
United are in talks with Bayern Munich over their defender Matthijs de Ligt. This Dutch international currently has a market value of around €50 million (£43 million). The Manchester club’s defense would benefit from De Ligt’s skill on that end.
Manchester United’s Target no. 2: Noussair Mazraoui
United has his assessment of Mazraoui along with De Ligt in his sights. Valued around €20 million (£17 million), the addition of Mazraoui would bolster United’s defensive possibilities.
Negotiation Status
The first joint bid for De Ligt and Mazraoui by Manchester United was unsuccessful. But the club intends to make better offers. According to reports, they both had agreed on personal terms which meant they have already expressed their interest to join Manchester.
Potential Departures
In order to complete these signings, Manchester United may remove some players. Victor Lindelof, Jean-Claire Todibo and Christian Eriksen are some of the players who could be sold. Also, keeper Altay Bayindir is on the market for the right price.
Strategic Reinforcements
These qualities are exactly what manager Ruben Amorim is hoping to add to a squad with a solid defensive foundation. These are all experienced players that would provide skill to the backline, and if De Ligt and Mazraoui are to be believed, they are the ones Manchester United sees as the next potential acquisitions, either to fill in a gap or solidify the defense.
