The affluent lifestyle of Roman Abramovich’s daughter Sofia and her anti-war rhetoric

Sofia Abramovich is the third child of billionaire Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and she moved from Russia to England in 2003 after her oligarch father bought the football club

Her father may have been slapped with a travel ban, but Roman Abramovich’s daughter Sofia regularly shares glamorous updates of her lavish life abroad.

The daughter of the billionaire oligarch seemingly enjoys a luxurious lifestyle – but it’s not known how this may be impacted after her father was sanctioned.

She is reported to move between two mansions in London and an £18 million country estate in West Sussex – but these properties will now be frozen.

While Abramovich’s family are not directly targeted with sanctions, officials believe it will practically be difficult for them to live in properties he owns.

The government has not revealed what will happen to any housekeeper or gardener already on the property, or whether the locks can or will be changed.

But he cannot rent it out or sell it, pay a cleaner to come and clean it, or pay an electricity company to put the lights on or off.

The Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned for his links to Vladimir Putin after the Russian President invaded Ukraine.

Sofia, 27, moved from Russia to England in 2003 with her family after her oligarch father bought the football club.

She drew attention earlier this month after hitting out at Putin for invading Ukraine.

On social media, she said that it was ‘Kremlin propaganda’ to claim ‘most Russians stand with Putin’ over his decision to start a war with Ukraine.

‘The biggest and most successful of Kremlin’s propaganda is that most Russians stand with Putin,’ her Instagram story post said.

One of the billionaire’s seven kids, she regularly shares photos on Instagram that reflect her love of glamorous holidays abroad, her horses and snaps from the family’s £18million estate in Sussex.

It is believed she is a Russian citizen and has previously represented the country in show-jumping competitions.

Her current British visa status is unknown but it’s thought that the time she has spent permanently living in the UK could mean she has the right to remain in the country.

Sofia grew up in Sussex but attended private schools in London, with her older siblings Anna, and Arkadiy, with fees said to be up to £40,000 a year.

Their lavish lifestyle reportedly included arriving at school by helicopter from their country home in Sussex – with a chauffeur-driven car waiting to pick them up at the helipad to complete the journey.

On the daily commute to her university, Sofia was said to have been chauffeured in a bullet-proof Range Rover.

Sofia regularly shares snaps of her jet-setting on Instagram, with recent pics showing her on the beach in the Caribbean.

Meanwhile, her 18th birthday party was a special occasion – at Chelsea nightclub Under The Bridge and featured performances from Scouting For Girls and McBusted.

She often shares pictures of herself at the stable and has previously taken part in competitions around the world.

It was previously reported that her father shelled out an estimated £500k for one of her horses after it won first prize in its class at the International Horse Show at Olympia.

Roman Abramovich was today sanctioned by the UK Government, plunging Chelsea’s long-term future into doubt.

The Russian-Israeli billionaire’s planned sale of the club will now be stalled, but could still go through provided the Government issues a licence.

Abramovich would have to prove he would not benefit from the sale to meet conditions of any potential licence, it is thought.

The 55-year-old has pledged to donate all funds from a Chelsea sale into a new foundation to benefit victims of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said in a statement released on the government website that they had targeted the oligarchs to “ramp up the pressure on the Putin regime and choke off funds to his brutal war machine”.

She said: “With their close links to Putin they are complicit in his aggression.

“The blood of the Ukrainian people is on their hands. They should hang their heads in shame.”
