Tina Turner’s funeral sees the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll cremated as friends bid her farewell

Tina Turner’s funeral is said to have taken place, with family and close friends saying their final farewells to the music superstar.

According to RadarOnline, the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll has been cremated in Switzerland.

It is unknown where her ashes are, but according to a source, Tina wanted her ultimate resting place to be near to her heart. She dispersed her firstborn son’s ashes in the Pacific Ocean when he died in 2018.

Tina’s close friend Oprah Winfrey and the singer’s husband Erwin Bach led a small group to a private memorial.

Tina died “peacefully” on Wednesday, May 24, at her home in Kusnacht, near Zurich, Switzerland. In May, we exclusively learned that the funeral will be a “small private affair” attended by only a few family members.
“She did not want a big public funeral,” said Eddy Hampton “Armani,” Tina’s personal assistant for more than 20 years. She requested that she be cremated, and I anticipate that there will be a small, private ceremony. I’m sure a memorial concert and tribute will be held later. It will be for her close friends in Switzerland as well as her manager.

Eddy, 65, stayed in touch with the actress after she moved to Kusnacht, Switzerland, in 1994. He had stood by her through her terrible marriage to Ike Turner until she found happiness with Erwin Bach, her loyal second husband, who died of natural causes in Switzerland in May.

Tina, an American living in London, had “left the past behind” after the devastating death of her two boys, according to Eddy. She had long struggled with high blood pressure and kidney failure and died of natural causes.

According to Page Six, the Proud Mary singer never got to meet her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. “No one had heard from Tina in a while, it happened so suddenly,” Twanna Turner, Ike Turner’s daughter from his relationship with Pat Richards, told the publication. It’s time to get better. The family wants and needs to recover because they have been through so much and continue to go through so much.”

Tina Turner was the mother of two biological children. Raymond Craig, her first child with saxophonist Raymond Hill, was born when she was only 18 years old. Raymond, also known as Craig, committed suicide in July 2018 at the age of 59, after a history of drug abuse.

Tina’s second kid, Ronnie, whom she had with her ex-husband Ike Turner, died of colon cancer in December 2022 at the age of 62. Tina had two grandkids, Randy and Raquel, through Ronnie, who were raised by Ronnie’s wife, Afida Turner.

They, along with Rquel’s sons Tyson and Tyrese, have never met their famous grandma. Tina was unable to attend Ronnie’s burial in Los Angeles, according to sources.

Tina was also the mother of two adopted sons, Ike Turner Jr. and Michael Turner. Tiffany Turner-Dukes, Michael’s daughter, has three children with her husband: daughter Marli and sons Amari and Gianni. While Tina’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren never met the legendary singer, their family claims they have all inherited the musical gene.
