West Midlands Safari Park in Bewdley, Worcestershire was founded in 1973 and has grown to be one of the UKs premier attractions. Across more than 200 acres, it gives guests a fun-filled day with walks and talks featuring all sorts of fascinating beasts.
Elephant Encounter on Safari: The Best Wildlife Viewing Ever
In 2021, launch of Safari Lodges offered guests the novel experience of sleeping among wildlife. Designed to open up directly across the paths of several animal habitats (lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes and red pandas onsite), each lodge offers spectacular views.
Accommodation Features
All lodges are set up to mix luxury and nature. Similar to Railay Tree, guests can experience contemporary features in the comforts of soft beds with en-suite bathrooms and private decks looking onto animal enclosures. A few lodges also have hot tubs for extra relaxing. The lodges in the park all offer a different style of accommodation and view and experience with different species.
Dining and Activities
Statement of the Safari Lodges include breakfast and dinner delivered direct to the lodges. The park also gives guests two day access to the theme park, plus summer season access to Adventure Theme Park. Visitors get to roam in their own time, join prepared visits and eye-to-eye with unique circuit breaker activities.
Recent Highlight: More Developments
Ben the white tiger, pictured on this file photo. Died at the age of 19.5 in October 2024 while hunting for food (above). The park said Ben had been suffering from “age-related chronic health problems” prior to his death . Just days before he was about to turn 20 years old. Everyone who frequented the park knew Ben, and he will be greatly missed.
The park welcomed the birth of Mtembei, a giraffe calf in May 2024. Who has since become one of the visitors’ favorites! The park also debuted new attractions, such as the Jungle Jeeps ride, that would help create a better experience for visitors.
Safety and Maintenance
The incident occurred when a structural beam on the Monkey Mayhem ride partially detached, resulting in an emergency stop on 25th October 2024. None of the guests were hurt and two people safely evacuated the house within 30 minutes. The park said guest safety is a top priority, and the ride has since been shuttered for inspections but is due to reopen shortly.
Financial Overview
Although specific monetary amounts are not published, West Midlands Safari Park continuously reinvests to improve the visitor experience. This is the introduction of Safari Lodges and new attractions, which suggests that the financial position is strong enough to enable ongoing development of products; for example by maintaining a high standard.
Visitor Information
The park remains open all year round with different seasonal opening times and entry prices. Guests can stay tuned on events and ticketing or accommodation news via the official website. Safari Lodges are in demand and it is advisable to book well in advance.
