As we know, all good things must come to an end. So, burger fans will be heartbroken to learn that the Chicken Big Mac is leaving the menu soon after lapping it up for the last few weeks.
Priced at £4.09, for the sandwich, alone, the burger has been in and out of McDonald’s menu for the past month.
Proving to be popular among Brits, it sold out just over a week after it was launched on February 2, 2022.
Revealing the limited edition item’s shortage on Twitter, McDonald’s said: “Well, that escalated quickly. Your love for the limited edition Chicken Big Mac knew no bounds and it’s sold out almost everywhere. Thank you for lovin’ it even more than we thought you would, it’ll be back soon”.
Fans were elated when the Chicken Big Mac returned to the menu on March 2, 2022, but its run is coming to an end. Brace yourself, here’s exactly when the burger leaves the menu.
Sadly for fans of the burger, McDonald’s Chicken Big Mac leaves the menu on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.
Currently, there are no plans for the limited edition item to return to the menu, but it can’t be ruled out given its popularity.
When the burger returned to the menu a spokesperson for McDonald’s said: “We have been delighted by our customers’ reaction to the limited-edition Chicken Big Mac.”
Highlighting the menu-additions popularity, they said: “Thank you to everyone who has made this the UK and Ireland’s most popular launch ever. The demand has been incredible, and we’re pleased to share its back but for a limited time only.”
You can order the McDonald’s Chicken Big Mac in stores across the UK, on the McDonald’s app or on Uber Eats and Just Eat apps using your smartphone.
While no chicken burgers have been announced to replace the Chicken Big Mac when it leaves, there are still a handful of new items to fill the void.
The Double Big Mac features a whopping four beef patties and McDonald’s famous Big Mac sauce, and is a super-sized take on the original Big Mac burger.
There’s also an exciting permanent new addition for vegans in the form of the highly anticipated McPlant burger, which features a Beyond Meat patty.
You’ll also find vegan burger sauce, vegan cheese and a selection of veggies topping the burger. The burger is also fully vegan certified so there are no fears of cross-contamination.
And, the true fan favourite Mozzarella Dippers, is back on the menu in three- or nine-stick sizes. They are limited edition, too, so make the most of them while they’re around.
