WALLINGTON’S LIDL WILL BE CLOSED TEMPORARILY AS EXTENSION WORK CONTINUES

To better serve its customers, Lidl GB has announced that it would renovate its existing supermarket at Beddington Gardens, Wallington.

The business will get a new in-store bakery and a spruced-up parking lot as part of the expansion and renovations.

The store will be closed from 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21st, in order to facilitate the extension, and is expected to reopen in the spring of 2019. Great value, high-quality groceries are still available at the supermarket’s locations in close proximity to Purley Way, Croydon, and Spinning Wheel Way, Sutton.

The supermarket’s current employees will be temporarily relocated to other stores within the Lidl chain.

For example, Max Clapton, Regional Head of Property for Lidl GB, said, “We’re happy to be able to enlarge our Wallington store, so that we may bring our much-loved produce to the local community and provide an improved shopping experience in-store. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation during this time of construction.

The renovation is part of the company’s planned £1.3 billion in nationwide investments for 2021 and 2022. As a result of its continued growth, Lidl GB is now the sixth largest supermarket in the UK.
