Love Island fans are outraged after the classic final week challenge was ‘axed’ to make way for a new feature

According to reports, Love Island’s renowned baby challenge is no longer available.

The fan-favorite challenge, in which the final couples are charged with caring for wailing ‘kids,’ will not be featured in the final episodes of this year’s series.

Although the cancellation has not been confirmed, ITV2 viewers are outraged by the alleged plan to terminate the popular game show.

“All I wanted was Tyrella to participate in the baby challenge.” “Was that too much to ask??? #loveisland,” one fan yelled earlier today on Twitter.

“Apparently the baby challenge has been axed omg nooo say jk #loveIsland,” one added, while another pondered: “4 episodes left after tonight (excluding final) looks like baby challenge has been dumped for Villa, why?, no couple is complete without a baby.”

A Love Island insider told The Sun that the baby challenge would be dropped for the first time in ten series: “It’s not happening this year – but the show has seen loads of new tasks and challenges that fans have loved.”

Over the years, the axed challenge has produced some memorable moments on the ITV2 dating program, particularly for couples who went on to have real-life children together. Other highlights include Chris Hughes’ attachment to ‘baby’ Cash.

Molly-Mae Hague, who gave birth to baby Bambi in January, famously scolded boyfriend Tommy Fury during the 2019 baby challenge. When she caught her boxer boyfriend throwing the plastic baby around, the Instagram star said, “Tommy, what the f**k was that?”
Following Tommy’s proposal in Ibiza, the 24-year-old mother-of-one reminisced about her experience on Love Island on social media earlier this week. She released a video of herself and Tommy having fun at a Spanish villa four years ago. “Molly Fury,” Tommy joked with his future bride at the pool as they boxed on the ITV2 show in 2019, and Molly-Mae answered, smiling, “Just call me Molly Fury!!”

Along with sharing the video with her 7.6 million followers on Tuesday, the newly engaged celebrity also shared a photo of herself beaming on the beach, her new ring proudly displayed on her left hand. “‘Just call me… Molly Fury’ [ring emoji],” the ecstatic reality TV personality captioned her most recent post-engagement Instagram update.

The baby challenge is expected to be replaced by a completely new feature during the closing days of this year’s Love Island series. According to The Sun, ITV2 executives replaced the challenge with The Grafties, which aired yesterday night. While many people are saddened by the baby challenge’s passing, others are ecstatic.

“Can I already rejoice that there will be no f***ing baby challenge?” “omg I hated that so much #loveisland,” one fan tweeted this evening, while another speculated: “Anyone else think they scrapped the baby challenge this year bc there’s only 2 solid couples in that entire villa?” #LoveIsland.”
